Party day! 🎄

We started the morning with a mini netball tournament. However Jupiter house who had won the house point reward watched a film!

At lunchtime we all enjoyed the party food and listened to Christmas songs.

This afternoon we had great fun on the iPads – elfing ourselves (see videos on seesaw)! We then used heads up which is an interactive charades game.

We then had a visit from Father Christmas and received some yummy chocolates.

We finished the acfternoon with singing, dancing and games in the hall! Wow what a day!

KS2 Carol Service

Yesterday evening Elm Class took part in a beautiful Christmas Carol Service at the church. All of the children sang beautifully and angelically, although a special mention must go to Minnie and Hana for their confident solos. Well done too, to those children who recited the Bible reading and read prayers. I was extremely proud of every one and I think it definitely got the congregation in the Christmas spirit!  Here are a few photos that we managed to capture РI am sure more will follow!

Christmas has arrived in Elm Class

Yesterday, KS2 spent the morning in church rehearsing for tonight’s Carol Service. The church is looking very festival – the tree is up and there are lovely decorations too. We are looking forward to performing tonight and hope to see lots of families there.

Today we all celebrated with Christmas lunch. There was lots of festive music and everyone had a great time!

The start of week 6…and advent

At the beginning of the week we used audacity on the laptops. Some of us got to use the interactive whiteboard too! We had to mix together two Christmas songs to make a jingle for a radio station. It was very tricky but got us in the Christmas spirit!

We have also been introduced to a new word of the week – jubilant. Our task was to try and use it in a sentence with an embedded clause. Some of us mastered this…

Some us have even managed to fit the word of the week into our hot tasks which we completed in best. We are very pleased with our finished newspaper reports.

In addition to all of this, we have enjoyed opening our advent calendar which retells The Christmas Story .

Christingle Service

This morning we had a Christingle Service led by Canon Larkey and the Worship Council – which included Dougal and Emily in our class. We all took our Christingles into the service and Freddie and Matthew had their candles lit. We learnt about the meaning of the Christingle, sang Shine Jesus Shine and finished with a prayer. We have brought our christingles home today to be lit.
